2012 Season of Plays and Musicals

March 2012 – “Twelve Angry Men”Our history of performances in West Jordan has been full of comedies and musicals.  “Twelve Angry Men” will break that mold as we present this entertaining drama about a jury deciding the fate of an accused murderer.  This gripping story was made familiar by the 1957 movie with Henry Fonda and Lee J. Cobb, then again in 1997 with Jack Lemmon and George C. Scott.  You won’t want to miss the stage version that brings you into the drama surrounding the decision of the fate of the accused.  This show will be presented in the community room at West Jordan City Hall, 8000 South Redwood Road.  Performances are Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays, March 16, 17, 19, 23, 24, 26 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for seniors and students and will be available soon at Macey’s Food Store in West Jordan or at the door.

June 2012 – “Seussical”
This popular musical featuring The Cat in the Hat, is a portrayal of the Dr. Seuss classic, “Horton Hears a Who” and is not just for children.  The color, music and dancing will be a thrill for the entire family.  Fittingly, this show will be our first production in the new Salt Lake County Library auditorium.  The new library is located behind West Jordan City Hall, next to the West Jordan Rodeo arena.

September 2012 – “Charley’s Aunt”
This classic British comedy is the tale of two college roommates who wish to court a pair of visiting young ladies.  Because of 19th century protocol, their visit will require a chaperone.  Fortunately, one of the roommates has an aunt coming into town who would make the perfect chaperone.  When the aunt doesn’t show, the boys are desparate and con a buddy into donning a dress and portraying the aunt.  Hilarity follows when a pair of older gentlemen begin making their moves on the “aunt”.  Then the real aunt shows up and things really begin to crazy.  “Charley’s Aunt” will play at the Salt Lake County Library auditorium in West Jordan.

December 2012 – A Christmas classic
that you will love. Due to restrictions by the publisher, we can’t announce the title of this show yet, but as soon as we can we will let you know.  This will be a family Christmas show that will start your holiday season off right.  This winter play will be in the new Salt Lake County Library auditorium.
